School Supplies From CBS Eco Media & Buick-GMC Dealers; SAI & UN Women – CSR Minute

Philadelphia Buick-GMC dealers have partnered with CBS Eco Media and the Kids in Need Foundation to provide school supplies to schools in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Funding for the supplies came from the Philadelphia Super Network Education Ad advertising on CBS, and distribution was managed by Eco Media’s national nonprofit partner, the Kids in Need Foundation.

Ryder and one of its customers, Fresh and Easy Neighborhood Market, a grocery retailer, have received the Logistics Quarterly 2012 Best Third Party Logistics Performer in Sustainability Award. Ryder and Fresh and Easy were noted for implementing sustainable practices that resulted in improved service, environmental performance, and cost effectiveness in Fresh and Easy’s supply chain operations.

Social Accountability International, in partnership with UN Women, has finalized the Gender Equity Seal, a new, auditable standard and certification system. The GES provides a clear roadmap for companies to measure and improve their progress in implementing gender equity policies. The new system leverages SAI’s experience in management systems for social performance.
