Wells Fargo Announces Record $6.4 Billion in Environmental Financing in 2012

SAN FRANCISCO–()–Continuing to accelerate its support for a green economy, Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) announced today it provided $6.4 billion in loans and investments in 2012 to businesses and projects with a direct positive impact on the environment. This marks the company’s first environmental financing update since announcing last year an expanded commitment to provide an additional $30 billion by 2020. Wells Fargo made its initial environmental financing commitment in 2005, and through 2011 the company provided $11.7 billion in loans and investments and more than $3.1 billion in additional financial services. Together, with today’s record announcement of $6.4 billion, Wells Fargo has financed more than $21 billion for green businesses, green buildings, and clean energy customers since 2005.

According to its latest Environmental Finance Report, released today, Wells Fargo continued to increase its support for clean energy and green buildings in 2012. The company invested more than $500 million of tax equity in wind and solar projects, bringing its total to $2 billion for wind assets and more than $1 billion for solar projects across 29 states. Renewable energy systems in Wells Fargo’s portfolio of over 300 projects produced approximately 16 terawatt-hours of electricity in 2012 – enough to power 1.2 million homes for one year. In addition, the company provided $3.1 billion for LEED®-certified buildings, $180 million toward Brownfield redevelopment projects and more than $700 million toward ENERGY STAR-certified properties. Dow Lab Safety Academy Promotes Safety Mindset in Future Chemical Workforce

Recycle for the Future: Coca-Cola Enterprises Seeks to Transform At-Home Recycling

LONDON, May 20, 2013 /3BL Media/ – Coca-Cola Enterprises (NYSE/Euronext Paris: CCE), which manufactures, bottles and markets Coca-Cola products in Western Europe, has begun a ground-breaking study with 20 households in Great Britain and France to observe at-home recycling behaviors. The study will seek to understand why recycling rates are so low, despite people expressing strong beliefs towards environmental behaviors.

Research shows that 75% of French and 76% of British consumers claim to “always” recycle plastic bottles at home, and over 63% across both countries view recycling as “a moral and environmental duty.” However, actual at-home recycling rates do not reflect these intentions with only half of all plastic bottles currently collected for recycling, revealing a significant ‘value/action gap.’ Improving these recycling rates will enable manufacturers to boost sources of locally-available high-quality recycled PET and reduce their resource footprint. GM Turns Corporate Lands into Refuge for Wildlife

DETROIT, April 22, 2013 /3BL Media/ — General Motors is transforming corporate lands at its global facilities into tailored areas for wildlife habitats.

Together with the Wildlife Habitat Council, dozens of companies, including GM, are foregoing cement buildings for a different sort of structure: the kind that house animals.

Sustainable Brands Partners with GRI Focal Point USA for G4 North American Release

SAN FRANCISCO, May 14, 2013 – Sustainable Brands® announced today a partnership with Global Reporting Initiative’s Focal Point USA for its G4 Guidelines release in North America to follow its official launch in Europe this coming May, 2013. The North American G4 Masters Class Series will make its debut as the official “Local Launch of G4” during the Sustainable Brands 2013 (SB’13) conference on June 3, 2013 in San Diego, CA. This will mark the first opportunity for individuals to receive an acknowledgment from GRI for those who have completed the unique G4 Master Classes.

Launch of Wigton as a Smart Energy Community

Herbalife Social Responsibility Programs Receive Recognition in Russia

LOS ANGELES–()–Global nutrition company, Herbalife (NYSE: HLF), announces that two of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs - TEAM Herbalife and Casa Herbalife – were named in the list of “Best Social Projects of Russia” in 2012.
